Great Indonesian food, I like to think it is one of the best in the Hague.
Restaurant itself is not to big so if you want to eat there make sure you have a reservation.
Location is near the city center and easy to reach by public transport (Tram 6 across the street and 2,3,4,34 around the corner)
Good authentic Indonesian kitchen. A hidden gem 💎. Reservations necessary, because it's a tiny restaurant. Very friendly servicing staff.
Updated review:
Very good quality food. But very expensive.
Also on the oily side. Vegetarian rijsttafel + 1 beer each for 2 people was 80 euros!
The other times we were there we ordered more things (shrimp appetizer) and was still 15 euros cheaper.
There was a group of very noisy men with very big voices in an otherwise empty restaurant. I wish we had been sitting further away. Because of pretty poor acoustics we could not hear ourselves think!
My advice: sit at a distance from other diners if you can.
For such an expensive meal (80 euros) I would expect even a better setting. Also the kitchen closes quite early. I felt a bit rushed.
Otherwise the woman serving us was very nice & kind. 👍🏻
I went here for a celebration of a colleague's years of service at the organisation we work for. We ordered the rijsttafel. It was more than enough of food. The variety of tastes was amazing. Due to its diversity in food anyone can order a type of plate. Unfortunately I don't know if the vegans have many options, but there are definitely some things to order. They have halal food, but they also serve pork meat. Rest assured the food don't touch each other. My belly was full, the waitresses were very kind and in my experience the best Indonesian food I've had till now. A big statement, but for me that was the case.
Genuine Indonesian food, nice host, visiting this restaurant made our day!
Very friendly staff and great tasting food. The menu could explain a bit what all the sauces and types of food are, since the names are very vague and people who aren't really familiar with Indonesian food will have no idea what to pick and what all the names mean.
Good Indonesian food, not the best but still good. Prices are okay. Venue looks old just a few tables but this is fine. Service is also good and friendly. I will probably visit again.
Most wonderful Indonesian restaurant in The Hague! Try any of the "rijsttafels" on the menu, the dishes will amaze you!
Service is good, but be sure to make a reservation: you will not be the only one eating here!
Ok so for a second experience of indonesian food in hague it was pretty ok. The problem i had was that the meat was again very hard to chew. I chose a chicken with cashew and it was fried and looked old. It seemed to be just reheated. The tastes are interesting. I took rice some vegetables with peanut sauce and as i said chicken with cashew. Maybe they make other types of meat better but they should pay attention that the food is fresh. The chicken ruined the whole experience although taste related it was ok. Any restaurant should bear in mind that food needs to be fresh. The interior was ok it wants to be traditional and intimate but the problem is they dont have a menu in english which is not ok considering hague s cosmopolitan vibe. They should explain in the menu what each meal consists of.
Bad service, super expensive and smells of damp. I can't comment on the food as we decided to leave when they told us that it would be a 30 minute wait for rice.
